(MAY 24, 2021) – TDOT has now shifted their bridge repair on I-40 at the 328 mile marker to the WESTBOUND side resulting in one lane traffic at the scene. This is causing traffic backups and will continue to do so for at least two weeks (around mid-June). Motorists can expect travel delays. Taking the 329 Exit (Crab Orchard) and proceeding west on Highway 70 to Peavine Road to get back on I-40 can be done but is not recommended as crews are working underneath the bridge on the highway with delays there. The best course of action is to remain patient and you will eventually make it out of the construction zone on the interstate.

Crews completed the work on the eastbound side at the 328 mile marker this past Friday (May 21, 2021).
