TDOT will start inspecting bridges in Cumberland County on Interstate 40 starting today (Monday, October 21, 2019) and running to Wednesday. Crews will be near the 317 mile marker this morning looking at the Obed River bridge. Eastbound lanes will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. then shift to one lane in the westbound lanes after 2:30 p.m. Tomorrow, crews will inspect the bridge over Daddy’s Creek near mile marker 327 with the same lane reductions in place. Finally on Wednesday, the bridge over Piney Creek at mile marker 338 will be the focus. Motorists are asked to use caution in these areas.
