An Overton County teenager is facing charges after allegedly making some disturbing comments at Livingston Academy this week. Livingston Police Chief Greg Etheredge said students at the school alerted staff of the comments and the school resource officer later filed charges against the suspect juvenile who made the remarks. The teen was transported to the Putnam County Juvenile Detention facility pending a court hearing. Chief Etheredge said the Livingston Police Department takes the safety of the schools and the children very seriously. The department has increased police presence at Livingston Academy and other schools in the county. Etheredge said he believes at this time there is no known credible threat to the schools or students.
