TENNESSEE #8 IN NATION FOR HOT CAR DEATHS
Now that summer’s here, law enforcement wants to remind parents of the dangers of hot cars. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 23 children have died in hot cars in Tennessee since 1998. That makes Tennessee 8th in the nation for deaths occurring in hot cars. Law enforcement officials say that if you see a child alone in a parked vehicle, to call local authorities. During the summer, temperatures inside of a parked car can climb 19 degrees in only 10 minutes.
