TENNESSEE ATTORNEY GENERAL LAUNCHES BROAD INQUIRY INTO FAIRFIELD GLADE GOVERNANCE
The Fairfield Glade Community Club is currently facing a “formal inquiry” by the Tennessee Attorney General, prompted by member concerns regarding governance and the potential overextension of power to the community’s declarant. During an April 23 board meeting, President Greg Jones announced that the Attorney General has requested an expansive array of documents, a move so significant that the board has hired outside legal counsel to lead its response.

Due to the broad and undefined scope of this probe, the board has withdrawn proposed bylaw revisions and suspended its usual practice of providing transparent updates to the membership, citing legal advice to remain silent on any topics that might overlap with the investigation.
Residents pressed for answers on several controversial issues, including a December 2024 land agreement, a revised sewer availability policy, and the legitimacy of a board member’s status following an alleged resignation. Despite the board’s refusal to comment on these matters, former committee members publicly voiced concerns about a lack of transparency in committee appointments and the withholding of previously promised information.
President Jones maintained that even seemingly benign questions would go unanswered until the full nature of the state’s inquiry is understood.
