TENNESSEE BOARD OF EDUCATION REPRIMANDS OVERTON COUNTY TEACHER
The Tennessee Board of Education has reprimanded an Overton County teacher for improper discipline and physical contact with a student.
Officials say Annette Vaughn was suspended for five days, issued a letter of reprimand, and required to complete training on proper restraints.
The incident involved Vaughn pulling a student by the arm, grabbing him by the waistband, and then picking the student up and carrying him down a hallway.
Under state rules, a formal reprimand admonishes an educator for certain conduct.
Vaughn received notice of the intent to reprimand and agreed to the terms.
