TENNESSEE COMMUNITY COLLEGES LAUNCH 28TH ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE CHALLENGE TO COMBAT STUDENT FOOD INSECURITY

Tennessee’s community colleges and Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs) have officially kicked off their 28th annual Food Drive Challenge, bringing together campuses statewide to support student pantries and local food banks.
Roane State Community College is defending its title as the reigning Tier 1 champion after contributing more than 20,000 items during last year’s campaign, which collectively raised the equivalent of over 163,000 items statewide.

How to Support Roane State’s Campaign

  • Food Donations: Accepted at full-service campus pantries in Roane County, Oak Ridge, Fentress County, Morgan County, and Cumberland County during regular hours through December 4, 2026.
  • Monetary Gifts: Donors can contribute online via the Roane State Foundation by designating their gift for the food pantry. Every dollar donated counts as two units of food.
Established in 1999 by the Student Government Presidents Council, the annual competition has generated over 2 million units of food and funds over its 28-year history. While the challenge runs through early December, donations to Roane State’s food pantry are accepted year-round, with free resources available to students across all campuses.
