TENNESSEE GRAND JURY INDICTS KENNETH WAYNE SPIVEY FOR FIRST-DEGREE MURDER IN 2025 CROSSVILLE KILLING

Earlier this month, a Cumberland County grand jury formally indicted Kenneth Wayne Spivey on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the November 2025 death of Linda D. Spivey.
According to court documents from the Office of the District Attorney General, the indictment was entered on August 4, 2026. The charge stems from an incident on November 3, 2025, when a local security officer responded to a welfare check at a residence on Big Horn Drive in Crossville.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim’s body concealed under household trash, alongside a shattered mirror and picture frames. Investigators from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) reported that Linda Spivey had suffered severe blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds while unarmed.
Authorities stated that Kenneth Wayne Spivey admitted to beating and stabbing the victim during an interview following his initial arrest at the scene. Investigators also recovered physical evidence, including a broken knife blade, a fixed-blade knife in a bathroom sink, and clothing containing suspected blood.
The case is being prosecuted through the Cumberland County Criminal Court under District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway.
