TENNESSEE LAWMAKERS PASS BILL ALLOWING VETERINARIANS TO REPORT SUSPECTED ANIMAL ABUSE
Tennessee lawmakers passed a bill allowing veterinarians to report suspected cases of animal abuse.
House Bill 2079 also allows veterinarians to testify in court without violating veterinarian-client-patient confidentiality.
It provides immunity “from any breach of confidentiality if veterinarians act in good faith in reporting the suspected abuse.”
The bill will now move to Governor Bill Lee’s desk to be signed.
