TENNESSEE PURSUES DEATH PENALTY FOR DEHART
New court documents were filed today by the State of Tennessee to pursue the death penalty for Kenneth DeHart with no possibility for parole.
DeHart was charged with first-degree murder in February after the fatal shooting of Blount County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Greg McCowan and the attempted murder of Deputy Shelby Eggers. he was indicted in April and is currently facing 21 charges.
DeHart would be captured at the home of his girlfriend Carrie Matthews in Sevierville after a five-day search.
Matthews would be indicted on two felony charges in April.
