TENNESSEE SENATE VOTES TO ADD 911 TEXTING IN ALL COUNTIES
Citizens in every county in Tennessee could soon be able to text 911 in emergencies. Senator Becky Massey of Knoxville introduced State Bill 0182 that passed the Senate with no opposition. Massey said the bill could help victims of domestic violence, human trafficking or mass shooting situations. It must be voted on by the House or Representatives and signed by Governor Bill Lee before it could become law. If passed, the system would begin by January 1, 2023.
