TENNESSEE’S OCTOBER UNEMPLOYMENT RATE CONTINUES TO SET RECORDS

Tennessee continues to post a record-breaking unemployment rate. October’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held at the previous month’s rate of 3.0 percent. It’s the fifth month in a row that the state has posted a historically low rate. Tennessee first began posting a lower rate of 3.6 percent in June of this year. October’s 2017 unemployment rate is two percentage points lower than it was one year ago and continues to outpace the national average, which currently sits at 4.1 percent.
