THE VILLAGE INN IS BACK OPEN FOR CROSSVILLE RESIDENTS

Less than 24 hours after authorities closed The Village Inn, in Crossville, it is back open.

On Wednesday morning authorities were doing a narcotics investigation at The Village Inn, when they discovered the living conditions were uninhabitable. They discovered one resident’s room full of water, falling concrete on walkways, broken handrails, and missing smoke detectors in rooms. City officials gave the residents less than 12 hours to evacuate and get all their belongings.

The Village Inn is home to over 100 people with 64 rooms. Residents claim they are out a lot of money, especially since their power was turned off, leaving them with ruined food in their refrigerators. Cumberland Fellowship and The Bread of Life assisted the families who were immediately evicted by helping with hotel room cost and many other ways.

City Manager Greg Wood said there was a “procedural error that voided the action”.
