THIEVES BREAKING INTO A CROSSVILLE HOME, LEAVE EVIDENCE BEHIND

On Thursday, officers were dispatched to a residence off Oak Grove Street for burglary. The owner stated that she was gone between 4:30 PM and 9:20 PM and discovered someone had been in her home.  A neighbor told officers they saw a bald male with a goatee and a blond, skinny female with a flashlight entering the residence through a window. They left in a brown and tan truck, possibly a Chevy.

When the owner returned home, she discovered the screen door had been completely cut out. Her front door was unlocked and her mail package had been opened. Throughout her house, random things were scattered that didn’t belong to her like a gold watch, a hoodie, and a makeup brush. Inside her mail package was also multiple items that looked like the thieves used to carry out items of the house. Also in the box, was a receipt from Miller Mart, where the homeowner had not been.

Officers went to observe video footage of the transaction from the receipt at Miller Mart and observed a skinny, blond female buying a carton of cigarettes. Officers identified the woman as Kelly Young. The female in the video was wearing the identical shirt Ms. Young wore at her last booking on 10/04/22.

There is a warrant for Kelly Young for Aggravated Burglary. The male’s identity is still unknown.
