THP RELEASES DETAILS ON LAST WEEK’S I-40 BEAR COLLISION

On June 19, 2025, at 10:38 AM, a crash occurred on I-40 westbound at mile marker 332 in Cumberland County. A 2017 Honda Pilot, driven by Sharina Greene (39), collided with a black bear that jumped over the guardrail.
The vehicle sustained minor damage and pulled into the emergency lane. Greene and passenger Christopher Turner (52) were wearing seat belts and were uninjured. A third passenger, Gabriel Turner (13), wore a seat belt but had possible injuries.
No charges were filed.
