THP TROOPER ACC– USED OF “GROPING” CLEARED OF CHARGES

A Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper who was accused of groping a woman during a traffic stop, has been cleared of the charges. The incident allegedly took place in Campbell County. THP Colonel Tracy trot says that Trooper Isaiah Lloyd will be returning to active status. He had been placed on desk duty during the investigation. A lawsuit was filed by Patricia Wilson who claimed that Trooper Lloyd stopped her on Aug. 16, 2017 for not wearing a seat belt. Wilson works as a janitor and wears tight clothing in the job. She alleges that during the stop on I-75, Lloyd did a frisk of her body, touching her private areas. After giving her a ticket, Lloyd reportedly stopped her again later when she had her two children in the vehicle. Responding to the lawsuit, THP Colonel Trott said, ““After careful consideration and review, the Tennessee Highway Patrol Command Staff has advised me that Trooper Isaiah Lloyd conducted this traffic stop in a professional manner in an effort to protect the motoring public.” Trott mentioned that the command staff reviewed the traffic stop video several times and found that Lloyd did not act inappropriately. Trott said, “It appears that Trooper Lloyd conducted a search for contraband instead of a pat down for weapons. The technique that Trooper Lloyd used during the traffic stop will be addressed internally.” Lloyd was accused of “extreme and outrageous conduct” in the lawsuit, which levies nine claims against him including assault and battery; intentional inflection of emotional distress; and false arrest and imprisonment.
