THP TROOPER COTHRON MAKES STRIDES IN RECOVERY

Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Adam Cothron was severely injured in July while on patrol on I-40. Cothron was shot after pulling over a white Kia for a traffic violation and was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville to recover.

Last week, Gena Cothron reported on his recovery on Facebook saying: “This week has been a very busy/productive week. Adam got his collar off and a fresh haircut. He’s moving his left hand more, and can almost make a fist. The therapist decided that his ulna nerve was causing pain in his left arm. It will just take a while to heal.”

She said that once his ulna nerve is healed, Cothron can begin therapy to regain his ability to walk.

She also sent thank yous to those who sent gift cards, money, checks, and food, as well as visitors coming to wish Cothron well.

Cothron was a Deputy Sheriff at the Trousdale County Sheriff’s Office and a certified K-9 handler before joining the THP.
