THREE ARRESTED IN COOKEVILLE AFTER SCUFFLE WITH DEPUTY

Three people were arrested in Cookeville after they participated in a scuffle with a Putnam County Deputy earlier this week. While patrolling Willow Ave, Sgt. Jeremy Nash observed a vehicle which had a BOLO and being driven by John Travis Perry, a man believed to have federal warrants. Perry fled the scene on foot when Nash attempted to make contact. The officer began to struggle with the suspect after his taser failed when one of two passengers in the vehicle got behind the wheel and drove aggressively toward the two men. Perry was able to slip away from Sgt. Nash and slid into the car. The identified vehicle was later found abandoned in a warehouse area off Willow. All three, Perry, David Hammons, and Rachel Sircy, were all later taken into custody and face numerous charges.
