THREE TORNADOES CONFIRMED IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE

It has been determined that three EF-1 tornadoes touched down Sunday afternoon and evening in Middle Tennessee. The first one touched down near Allardt (Fentress Co.) at 4:30 p.m. The second occurred in Crossville (Cumberland Co.) at 4:59 p.m. The final tornado touched down near Grimsley (Fentress Co.) at 7:38 p.m. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities resulting from any of these tornadoes.

One tornado touched down near Allardt at 4:30pm CDT. The tornado touched down 1.7 miles south of Jamestown Airport near Highway 127, traveled 10.8 miles, and lifted along Scenic Bluff Road at 443pm CDT. Hundreds of trees were damaged or uprooted along the path. More than a donzen outbuildings or barns were completely destroyed. Several houses had roof and window damage. The tornado was rated EF-1 with max winds of 110mph. The path was 10.8 miles and the width was 300 yards.
Another tornado touched down 2 miles southeast of Grimsley from 558pm CDT to 601pm CDT. Dozens of trees were uprooted and snagged, causing damage to 2 houses and a few outbuildings. The Grimsley area tornado was rated EF-1, 90mph with a length of 1.8 miles and width of 30 yards.

The tornado touched down at 459pm CDT near the intersection of Highway 70N and Meadow Creek in Crossville then lifted just north of Interstate 40 before reaching Highway 127 at 503pm CDT.
One house slid completely off its foundation and several outbuildings were damaged. A hotel received minor roof damage.
The tornado was rated EF-1 with max winds of 95mph. The path was 1.6 miles and the width was 50 yards.
