Troopers and medics responded to a three vehicle accident on Highway 127 North in Cumberland County late yesterday. The report states a 2020 Ford F-150 driven by 24-year-old Matthew Stewart of Cookeville was attempting to cross the highway from Potato Farm Road onto Plateau Road when he pulled out into the path of an oncoming 2014 Chevy Malibu operated by 39-year-old Peter Anderson of Crossville. The impact caused the F-150 to spin and collide with a 2009 Ford Fusion driven by 20-year-old Gabrielle Wheat of Crossville who was stopped on Plateau Road waiting to turn. All three drivers were restrained and not hurt. Stewart was cited for failure to exercise due care.
