In Newport, Tennessee, a three-year-old child died Monday afternoon following a motor vehicle crash at a home on Ridgeland Drive. Cocke County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 4 p.m., where first responders treated the child at the scene before transporting them to Newport Medical Center, where the child was later pronounced dead.

Sheriff CJ Ball confirmed the child’s parents were not injured.
