Regional Forecast — Cumberland Plateau & Tennessee Valley

An active summer weather pattern will continue through the week with daily opportunities for showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain warm, with the Tennessee Valley running a few degrees warmer than the Cumberland Plateau.

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, especially during the afternoon. Highs around 82 to 84. Chance of rain 70 to 80 percent.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of lingering showers and thunderstorms during the evening. Lows around 68. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms developing. Highs around 85 on the Plateau and 88 in the Valley. Chance of rain 30 to 40 percent.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear and mild. Lows around 69. A brief evening thunderstorm is possible in some Valley locations.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible. Highs around 85 to 88. Chance of rain 30 to 40 percent.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear with a slight chance of an early evening shower or thunderstorm. Lows around 68 to 70.

Friday: Mostly sunny, hot, and humid with showers and thunderstorms likely developing during the afternoon. Highs around 86 on the Plateau and 89 in the Valley. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy with lingering showers and thunderstorms possible, especially during the evening. Lows around 64 to 68. Chance of rain 20 to 60 percent.
