ROANE COUNTY FIRST RESPONDERS HAVE A BUSY WEEKEND
A series of traffic accidents and a brush fire kept Roane County emergency responders busy over the weekend and into Monday afternoon. On Monday just before 2:00 PM, emergency crews and an ambulance rushed to an ATV accident on Snow Lane, located off Riggs Chapel Road, which resulted in one person being hospitalized.
Earlier that same afternoon, fire trucks from Rockwood and West Roane County responded to a brush fire off Tedder Street that reportedly involved a piece of equipment, though further details remain unavailable.
This followed two weekend crashes on Winton Chapel Road, south of Rockwood, being investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The first occurred around 5:30 PM on Friday when a vehicle struck a tree, knocking down power lines but causing no serious injuries.
Later that night, around 1:30 AM on Saturday, a rollover crash at the intersection of Winton Chapel Road and Eagle Furnace Road partially trapped a male driver; emergency responders successfully freed him from the vehicle, and thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
