TIM FRENCH PRESENTS AMERICAN FLAG TO CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Tim French presented an American flag that he walked with in his first 1,000 total mile walk in Cumberland County to County Mayor Allen Foster this morning at the War Memorial in Crossville. The flag given to the county is a thank you to all the Cumberland County soldiers who have fought and died protecting our flag and for those that helped him honor those fallen heroes. The flag presented today represents 114 fallen heroes who were honored in walks from May 14 through December 23, 2019.

Tim French said in the presentation:

“To the families of these fallen soldiers. I want you to know that your sacrifices are not forgotten. I will never forget them.”

County Mayor Allen Foster told 105.7 News he first wants to thank Tim for his service in the U.S. Navy. “On behalf of Cumberland County, we are very thankful that Tim gave us the flag he used in his 1,000 mile journey. He leads with the flag and he wants people to understand to remember the fallen warriors we have had. Tim also wants people to understand the suicide rate with the veterans and the military in general. Tim works hard and always points out that freedom is not free. There is a cost for freedom and what Tim does matters. I am going to make sure this flag is put somewhere where it will get the honor it deserves.”

Tim’s journey has only begun. There are more fallen veterans to honor and Tim will continue walking to honor them.

When you are driving and see Tim walking holding up the American Flag in Cumberland County, be sure to honk. That is one way of telling him you appreciate what he is doing in this journey.
