TOYOTA RECALLING AROUND 1 MILLION VEHICLES

Toyota is recalling around 1 million vehicles in the nation after discovering a possible defect that may cause the passenger airbag to not deploy in a crash.
The recall includes 15 different models of Toyota and Lexus with the model year between 2020 and 2021. Vehicles include the Toyota Camry, Rav4, Sienna, and the Lexus RX350 and ES350.
The Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensors in the front passenger seat could have been improperly manufactured, causing a short circuit.
The OCS sensor helps determine a rough estimate of how heavy a person is which can indicate if the front seat passenger is an adult or child.
If the sensor short circuits, the airbag could fail to deploy.
Owners involved in the recall will be notified by Toyota by the middle of February 2024. The vehicle can then be brought to a Toyota or Lexus dealer to be inspected and the sensor will be replaced at no cost to the owner.
