A tractor-trailer accident near the Peavine Road exit on I-40 in Cumberland County before sunrise yesterday resulted in an injury and traffic backups for a few hours. Troopers say a 2016 Volvo semi operated by Joshua James Byrge of Oak Ridge collided with a 1999 GMC Sonoma driven by 52-year-old Terrance Dwayne Reed of Little Rock, Arkansas. The impact caused the GMC to spin in the road and the tractor-trailer hit a trailer Reed was towing. Reed was hurt in the crash. Both vehicles came to rest either in the lanes of travel or in the median. Traffic at the scene was restored to normal around noon.
