Roane County firefighters responded to a tractor-trailer blaze around the 343 westbound mile marker of I-40 this morning. The portion of road was shut down for over an hour as the fire was eventually extinguished. The vehicle hauling glass was a total loss. The woods next to the tractor-trailer caught fire and the Tennessee State Forestry Division was called in to put it out. No injuries were reported. As of noon eastern time today, westbound traffic from the 347 exit west to the scene is backed up.
