TRACTOR TRAILER GETS STUCK ON OLD AIRPORT ROAD ATTEMPTING TO DESCEND ROCKWOOD MOUNTAIN
A crash on Interstate 40 along Rockwood Mountain last Saturday left some motorists, including a tractor-trailer attempt to take Old Airport Road to get around the backup. The tractor-trailer wound up in a ditch at one of the hairpin curves on the road causing it to be shut down for nearly 3 hours. Wrecker crews from Goldston’s wrecker service were able to get to the rear of the trailer and pull it out of the ditch after getting several other vehicles out of the way which were blocked in as well following the big rig getting stuck. The driver from Texas was not injured and was not cited for causing the mishap.
