TRAFFIC CARNAGE IN CROSSVILLE AFTER PORTION OF NORTHSIDE DRIVE CLOSES

It was simply traffic carnage this morning in Crossville on Northside Drive.

Around sunset last night, TDOT crews closed a section between North Main Street and South Drive.

The projected reopening date is May 14, 2024.

The reason for the closure is for crews to install a deep storm drain.

Residents can access Romo’s and Bojangles from North Main Street.

Drivers will have to use Highway 70 North to get on Northside Drive to get to homes and businesses west of the work area.

A few drivers told 3B Media News this morning that the state needs to install more signage to indicate that part of the road is closed.

There are road closure signs posted at the intersections of Highway 70 North and Northside Drive as well as North Main Street and Northside Drive.

As of this morning (Tuesday, April 16, 2024), TDOT has not indicated the closure on its Smartway map.
