A former Maury County, Tennessee teacher accused of taking one of his students across the country for sex last year appeared in court yesterday for a hearing. The judge set a trial date of August 21, 2018 for Tad Cummins and set a pre-trial motions date of May 4. The trial is expected to last 7 to 10 days. Cummins is charged with transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of engaging in criminal sexual conduct and obstruction of justice.
