TRIAL FOR ADDITIONAL CHRISTIAN/NEWSOM SUSPECT PUSHED BACK TO AUGUST
The trial for a man involved in the murders of Channon Christian and Chris Newman was delayed Wednesday morning and has been pushed back until August of 2019. The two young people were kidnapped, beaten raped and murdered in 2007. Eric Boyd was only recently charged with first-degree murder and aggravated rape. Beforehand, he had been charged as an accessory after-the-fact. Lemaricus Davidson, Latalvis Cobbins, Geroge Thomas, and Vanessa Coleman were all tried and convicted of charges related to the murders. Boyd’s attorneys had asked for additional time to prepare a defense. The trial was set for January, It will now be August 5.
