TROOPER SHOT FRIDAY NIGHT DOING MUCH BETTER
Trooper Adam Cothron, who was shot on Interstate 40 on Friday night, is ‘doing much better’ according to a post from his family on Facebook.
District Attorney Bryant Dunaway shared Gena Cothron’s post where she described his injury. She wrote the bullet is not lodged in his spinal column like they originally thought. Instead, it’s in the area of his right scapula improving the odds of mobility in his legs.
“He’s getting some muscle response movements in his legs now and his arms are improving as well. The bullet will remain where it’s at unless his body starts to try getting rid it of on its own. The doctors tell us that it should not cause any problems to leave it,” the post read.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol announced Braze Rucker, who had been placed on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Most Wanted list, was arrested Sunday morning in Princeton, Kentucky.
Rucker and an unidentified occupant of a vehicle are accused of shooting Trooper Cothron.
“The search for Braze Rucker is over,” the THP said. “Today, troopers with Kentucky State Police used THP Trooper Adam Cothron’s handcuffs to take Rucker into custody. Thankful to KSP, TBI, and all the law enforcement agencies in Tennessee and to the citizens of Tennessee for your support.”
The TBI said efforts to identify the second person remain active and ongoing.
