The Tennessee Highway Patrol released an accident report today regarding a bicyclist struck by a dump truck in Roane County this past weekend. Trooper Brady Burnam says 36-year-old John Blanton of Signal Mountain, Tennessee was riding a bicycle traveling east on Indian Shallows Drive when he suddenly fell over and slid across the road into the path of a dump truck operated by 44-year-old Scott Patton of Harriman. Patton could not stop in time and hit Blanton and the bicycle. Blanton was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. Patton was not hurt in the accident.
