TRUCK CRASHES INTO HARRIMAN AT&T STORE AFTER DRIVER MISTAKES GAS FOR BRAKE
Emergency responders rushed to a local strip mall early Wednesday afternoon after a pickup truck smashed through the front glass of the AT&T store along Roane State Highway.
According to Harriman Fire Chief Jon Johnson, the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when the driver accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. The vehicle jumped the curb and entered the storefront, located beside Weigel’s and across from the Pinnacle Point Shopping Center.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the accident. Chief Johnson confirmed that the damage was contained to broken glass, with no structural integrity issues identified at the scene. Harriman police, fire crews, and an ambulance all responded to manage the mishap.
