On September 6, 2025, a crash occurred on Interstate 40 at mile marker 331 in Cumberland County involving a 2012 Freightliner driven by 44-year-old Rasul Iskander from Kentucky. Iskander, who was wearing a seat belt, was injured in the incident, and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

The vehicle, traveling west, veered off the roadway to the right, struck a guardrail end, turned sideways, slid into a ditch, and overturned, coming to rest off the right shoulder with the trailer blocking lane 2 of the interstate.
