TRUCK RUNS INTO PRIVATE BUILDING WHILE FLEEING DEPUTY

On Friday, Deputy Ethan Wilson of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Highway 70 West and Old State Road. Upon using his lights and sirens and catching up to the truck, the truck began to flee, turning down a driveway on Old State Road, going through grass, and into a red building on private property dealing serious damage before continuing to flee.

The truck turned onto Rodgers Road where Officer Charlock of the Crossville Police Department offered to set up spikes. The spikes proved effective, with the truck continuing until it almost reached Browntown where it came to a stop.

After exiting the vehicle, Deputy Wilson ordered the driver to get on the ground, where he was cuffed and identified as Nathan Selby who said that he ran because he had felony arrest warrants in White County.

After confirming the warrants and a suspended license, Selby’s truck was searched and Selby himself was transported to Cumberland County Justice Center for evading arrest, vandalism, driving with a suspended license, and leaving the scene of an accident. he was also cited for speeding 70 in a 55 MPH zone.
