Tennessee Valley Authority Officials say that security officers at their nuclear power plants will soon be prohibited from wearing sidearms. They say that other protective measures that are in place to secure the sites have rendered firearms obsolete. Even though there are those in the organization opposed to the idea, they say that the recommendation came after a regulatory review process. The edict will be finalized and in place throughout the organization by the end of the year.
