TWO ACCIDENTS AND A DOMESTIC DISPUTE IN ROANE COUNTY

On July 28, 2025, Roane County reported two accidents. At around 12:00 PM, a car flipped over in a driveway in the 700 block of Riggs Chapel Road. The female driver fled but was later found in the 800 block with lacerations and bleeding. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is investigating.
At approximately 2:00 PM, a two-vehicle collision occurred on I-40 westbound at the 360-mile marker near Buttermilk Road. One vehicle overturned in the median, injuring two people. One person was hospitalized, while authorities searched for another individual, believed to be the driver of one vehicle, who reportedly fled. Kingston Police deployed a drone to assist in the search.
The interstate was reduced to one lane for investigation and cleanup, which has been completed.
Additionally, a domestic dispute between family members was reported at Bacon Farm south of Rockwood, with law enforcement responding but no arrests made.
