TWO ACCIDENTS IN ROCKWOOD THURSDAY AFTERNOON LEAVE NO SERIOUS INJURIES
Rockwood police responded to two separate accidents that occurred within about an hour of each other on Thursday afternoon. The first was a single-vehicle crash around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of East Evans Street and South Kingston Avenue. A female driver from Kingston, operating a Toyota Corolla traveling southbound, struck a guy wire on a utility pole, causing the vehicle to flip over onto its roof. The driver was able to walk away from the accident uninjured. Additional details are expected once the Rockwood Police Department completes its report.
While crews were still clearing the first scene, a second two-vehicle accident occurred shortly before 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 78 and Old Kingston Avenue, near the golf course entrance east of town. The collision involved a van and a car in what appeared to be a head-on impact. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. Highway 78 was temporarily restricted to one lane in each direction during the response and cleanup.
