TWO ARRESTED FOR CUTTING COPPER FROM INN OF THE CUMBERLANDS
Two men from Kentucky were arrested in Crossville yesterday after allegedly cutting copper from a condemned hotel. Police responded to Inn of the Cumberlands where 47-year-old Andrew Scott Thornton of Louisville, Kentucky told officers he was a convicted felon and was in possession of a firearm. Officers observed several boards used to board up windows had been pried off. Thornton was charged with criminal trespassing, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A second subject, 36-year-old Steven Ray Tankersly of Louisville, Kentucky, was arrested for possession of burglary tools and criminal trespassing.
