TWO ARRESTED IN BLOUNT COUNTY FOR AIDING SUSPECT IN FATAL DEPUTY SHOOTING
The Blount County Sheriff`s Office made two arrests last night in connection to a deputy-involved shooting.
Deputies say Kenneth DeHart is responsible for fatally shooting Deputy Greg McCowan and wounding Deputy Shelby Eggers Thursday night.
Deputies say 41-year-old Marcus DeHart, the brother of the alleged shooter, is charged with accessory after the fact. He is being held in the Blount County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Law enforcement took 32-year-old Carrie Matthews, the girlfriend of Kenneth DeHart, into custody for being an accessory after the fact. She is being held at the Sevier County jail.
The Blount County Sheriff`s Office believes Kenneth DeHart is somewhere in the east Tennessee area. The search for him continues as of 9 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024.
