TWO CROSSVILLE WOMEN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

Cumberland County deputies were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle off HWY 127 N Saturday when the passenger immediately exited the vehicle and attempted to hide something. The deputy identified her as Kristen Parham, who he knew to have an active warrant. The deputy went to detain Kristen when she dropped aluminum foil to the ground. The foil was observed to have burnt residue in it believed to be heroin.

The driver of the vehicle, Miranda Stephens had slurred speech and appeared lethargic.

After reasonable suspicion, a city officer brought a K-9 dog to the scene, which alerted positive for possible narcotics.

After a search of the vehicle, authorities found a digital scale, straws, 3.09 grams of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, and .97 grams of an off-white substance believed to be heroin.

Stephens allegedly told authorities that all the drugs belonged to Kristen. She also claimed they had just come from Walmart where she did heroin and they were both actively looking for an “8 ball” but did not have any luck.

Both females were transported to Cumberland County Jail, where .5 grams of an off-white substance wrapped in foil was found on Parham inside her jeans.
