This morning, at approximately 7:58 AM, Cumberland County deputies responded to a Main Street, Pleasant Hill address on a call of two people deceased from gunshot wounds. Preliminary investigation suggests a murder/suicide. Identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Uplands Village posted on Facebook ” We are saddened to learn that a resident of Uplands Village, who moved in a week ago to our memory care assisted living neighborhood has suffered injuries from her husband resulting in her death and his suicide on our campus in the early morning hours of September 26, 2022. We grieve this loss and extend our deepest condolences to family and friends. The safety of our residents is our first concern. We take all matters of this nature seriously.”
