TWO FENTRESS SCHOOLS UNDER SOFT LOCKDOWN AFTER FENTRESS SHERIFF ALERT FOR ARMED SUSPECT
Allardt Elementary and York Elementary schools in Fentress County, Tennessee, are currently under a soft lockdown due to an ongoing investigation by the Sheriff’s Department. A soft lockdown means that school will continue as normal inside the buildings, but students and staff will not be permitted to go outside, and additional security measures will be in place. Updates will be provided throughout the day through the school’s messaging system.
The situation stems from a Fentress County Sheriff’s Office alert seeking a female suspect who is on foot and possibly armed. She was last seen wearing a red shirt in the area of 52 East near Whippoorwill Lane, Crooked Creek Drive, and Bob White Drive. Authorities ask that anyone who sees her call 931-752-0911 but emphasize that people should not approach her. The message was issued by Director Kristi Hall.
