TWO FROM ANDERSON COUNTY CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING

Two individuals from Anderson County were arrested in Oneida after reportedly stealing a car with two small children inside. Officers say woman called 911 to report that her car, with her 2 and 5-year-old children inside, had been stolen when she went inside a restaurant to pick up a to-go order, A child’s tablet was pinged in the vehicle later abandoned on Bilbrey Street. The two children were found and unharmed. Police found the two suspects, 29-year-old Amanda Phillips and 35-year-old Brandon Cody Phillips (cousins) walking down Main Street. Both were charged with two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated child endangerment, and one count each of theft over $10,000 and aggravated assault.
