TWO HARRIMAN BLUE DEVILS AND HEAD COACH MAKE ALL BASKETBALL TEAM SELECTIONS
The 2016-2017 PrepExtra All Basketball Team players list was released yesterday and a couple of area players and a coach made the honors.
FIRST TEAM
Isaiah McClain from Harriman was selected. Harriman won its first state championship since 1995 with McClain scoring the game-winning basket against Clay County in the finals. McClain averaged 22.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game and is signed to play at Bryan College.
SECOND TEAM
Parker McKinney from Coalfield was selected. The Coalfield quarterback was an All-State selection on the basketball court for the Yellow Jackets after registering 21.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals this season.
THIRD TEAM
Joe Pace of Harriman was selected. Pace put the Blue Devils in position to win their state tournament with a game-winning three-point play against Columbia Academy in the semifinals. The senior averaged 15.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 3.9 steals per game.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Shay Shannon – Harriman Blue Devils
Coach Shannon took the Harriman Blue Devils all the way to the state championship this season.
