TWO MEN ARRESTED FOR DUI, DRUG, AND WEAPONS CHARGES FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP IN CROSSVILLE
Two men were taken into custody early Sunday morning, October 18, 2026, following a traffic stop that uncovered suspected cocaine, an open container of alcohol, and a firearm.
According to a Crossville Police Department incident report filed by Officer Nathan Ramson, officers pulled over a Honda Accord on Miller Avenue at approximately 1:52 a.m. after observing multiple traffic infractions, including failure to use turn signals, lane-keeping issues, and traveling roughly 15 mph below the speed limit.
As the cruiser’s emergency lights were activated, officers witnessed a small baggie being thrown from the passenger-side window. The recovered baggie contained roughly 0.82 grams of a white, powdery substance that yielded a presumptive positive field test for cocaine.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Miguel Deara Sargos, displayed signs of impairment, including red, bloodshot, watery eyes, unsteady footing, and the odor of alcohol. Sargos admitted to coming from a party where he consumed a few beers.
The passenger, identified as 26-year-old Pablo Ontiveros Pena, exhibited signs of impairment as well, with officers noting a white powdery substance around his nose and mouth, glossy eyes, and unsteady movement. A probable-cause search of the vehicle yielded an open bottle of alcoholic liquor on the floorboard and a Taurus G3 9mm firearm located between the seats.
Both suspects were transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center. A search warrant was obtained for a blood draw, and Sargos was taken to Cumberland Medical Center for blood collection before being booked.
-
Miguel Deara Sargos was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driving Without a Driver’s License.
-
Pablo Ontiveros Pena was charged with Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated, Simple Possession of Cocaine, and Tampering With Evidence.
The recovered firearm, narcotics, and blood evidence were securely logged into the Crossville Police Department’s evidence storage facility.
