TWO MINORS SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER INNER TUBE COLLIDED WITH PONTOON

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — Two minors were taken to a hospital after an inner tube being pulled by a personal watercraft collided with a pontoon near Sailboat Cove in Fort Loudoun Lake, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The incident happened after 1 PM Monday in the Holder Branch area.

Frank Talo, 49, was operating a boat that was towing a water tube with two kids on board, according to TWRA. The kids’ water tube was reportedly slung into the side of an anchored pontoon boat. One of the injured victims was knocked unconscious. Both wore life jackets, according to TWRA.

TWRA and Knox County Rescue said their injuries were serious and  one had a “lower extremity injury.”
