TWO SEPARATE ACCIDENTS LEAVE THREE DEAD IN McMINN COUNTY
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating two separate fatal accidents over the weekend in McMinn County. Troopers say a 2003 Buick driven by 65-year-old George P. Alden of Etowah crossed over the center lane on Highway 411 and hit an oncoming 1985 GMC S15 operated by 44-year-old Terry L. Vaughn Jr. of Etowah. The impact resulted in a fire to both vehicles. Both drivers passed away at the scene. The second accident happened Saturday on Highway 635 in McMinn County, when a 1997 Toyota Avalon driven by 53-year-old Alan Usry of Athens went off the road and struck a culvert, killing him.
