On August 18, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Rathburn Street and South Gateway in Rockwood, involving a City of Rockwood Parks and Recreation pickup truck.

The truck, turning southbound onto Gateway, was rear-ended by a southbound car. No injuries were reported. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the incident due to the involvement of a city vehicle, as the Rockwood Police Department report is currently unavailable.
